The Alaskan Way Viaduct is a 2.2 mile double-decker freeway that runs along the waterfront in downtown Seattle. Since the viaduct was damaged in the 2001 Nisqually earthquake, replacing the structure has been a top priority of the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the City of Seattle. Six safety and mobility projects in the south and north ends of the project corridor are moving forward, and construction work will begin this year and continue through 2012. Janitorial Services Contract to be re-bid
State Contract 01902 for janitorial services will expire this June, which will offer a new bidding opportunity for statewide janitorial services.  The Office of State Procurement (OSP) awards master contracts for a minimum one-year term with annual extensions to a maximum of six years. State Contract 01902 will reach the end of its maximum term on June 6, 2008.  Individual janitorial work contracts that extend past June 6 will be allowed to continue under the terms of State Contract 01902 until the one-year work contract expires.

The Office of State Procurement anticipates posting the replacement bid for janitorial services on our Washington Electronic Bid System (WEBS) in mid-April 2008. Janitorial firms will be invited to attend optional pre-bid conferences to be scheduled in Olympia, Seattle and possibly Spokane.  For the re-bid, our office is working with a customer stakeholder group to identify ways to streamline the process. Questions about the new bid can be directed to pcajanitorial@ga.wa.gov
